About Me
I’m a Toronto-based writer/copywriter/editor who’s been a regular contributor to nationally distributed magazines and for top-tier organizations. I’ve also been a full-time copywriter for more than 15 years.
Born and raised in Summerside, P.E.I., I graduated from Riverview High School in Riverview, N.B., obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of New Brunswick and a Master’s degree in Communication Studies from the University of Windsor in Windsor, Ontario. I have completed courses in Magazine Writing and Magazine Copy Editing from Ryerson University and I’ve attended many writing workshops and seminars sponsored by the Professional Writers Association of Canada (PWAC).
I’ve covered the music scene in Toronto for many years, attending music conferences Canadian Music Week and NxNE, reviewing band showcases for Chart, and reporting on industry workshops for SOCAN. For three years I wrote the “Showcase” page in Canadian Musician magazine, shining a light on unsigned, independent Canadian musicians and bands.
I’m an avid music fan and a music-maker, having played guitar in local Toronto bands at venues such as The Legendary Horseshoe Tavern, Lee’s Palace, The Cadillac Lounge and Grossman’s Tavern.
